The Hub is older than 12 states and has been around since Thomas Edison still was inventing. On Monday October 22nd, the Hub began its 120th year of publication. Hub founder Mentor Brown published the first edition Oct. 22, 1888.

A monthly series, "Spokes in Time," started Friday, October 26th 2007 and leads up to the newspaper's official 120th anniversary next year. In the Kearney Hub paper on the last Friday of every month, the Hub will highlight a different decade in its history. Front pages from each decade will show how the appearance and news content of the newspaper has evolved over the years. In addition, the feature will review major national and international news as the Hub covered the events. The "Spokes in Time" feature will be published on this Kearneyhub.com page the Monday following publication in the paper.
