KEARNEY — A Kearney woman’s ex-husband allegedly gunned her down outside of her home southwest of Kearney in November.

On Nov. 13, Michael Petersen, 58, of Glenvil is believed to have laid in wait for nearly three hours for his ex-wife, Nancy Petersen, 55, at her home at 7510 Long Island Road before allegedly killing her with a single shot to the back. The murder was the Hub’s top public safety story in 2013.
