KEARNEY — Kearney police are asking the Buffalo County Attorney’s Office to file a juvenile petition against a 15-year-old boy for allegedly displaying a knife in the presence of another student at Kearney High School.

Around 10:45 a.m. Monday, KHS School Resource Officer Derek Luke received a report that a student displayed the blade outside the main entrance to KHS. Luke’s incident report says he removed a large Gerber Bear lockblade knife from the student and secured the weapon.
