KEARNEY — Similar to the Union Pacific freight trains he keeps track of, Adam Vogelsberg is usually here and gone.

Vogelsberg, 27, works out of the small yellow building with the Union Pacific logo that sits just west of Central Avenue on North Railroad Street, but he can’t say how long he will work each day or even where.
