On behalf of the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 312, Kearney, I want to thank local businesses that helped with the prizes for our Muscular Dystrophy Association drawing during the Nebraska state NALC convection at the Kearney Ramada Inn April 19-21.

We were able to raise more than $1,750 for this much needed cause.

Kearney businesses that helped included:

ABC Drug, All I Want For, Big Apple, Complete Nutrition, Cunningham’s Journal, Don’s Hobby Guns, Eakes, Floral Expressions, Hawthorne Jewelry, Pallas Music, Redman’s Shoes, Refind, Qdoba Mexican Grill, Replays, Shopping Tripps, Sports Village, The Country Nest, Time Center, TM Sporting Goods, Tru Café & Evo Salon, GNC, Tri-City Storm, Meadowlark Golf Course, Buffalo Ridge Golf Course, ESPN Radio, Platte River Radio, Golf USA, Schrock Chiropractic, Hilltop Mall Office and Off The Rack.

Holdrege businesses that helped included Ace Hardware, Double D Cleaners, Hilsabeck Sporting Goods Co. and My Favorite Party Shoppe.

Randy Polson of Lincoln donated two Husker tickets, and NTV reporter Nick Starling did an outstanding job covering the convention.

I also would like to thank the Kearney Chamber of Commerce for its help, Ramada Inn for its service, rooms and facilities, Dave Foster and his Cub Scouts for the Pledge of Allegiance, and Council member Randy Buschkoetter for his official welcome.

Ken Nickerson, Kearney
