KEARNEY — David L. Detter, 59, of Kearney died Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at his home.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home with Deacon Larry Brown officiating. Burial will be at Kearney Cemetery.
He was born April 7, 1954, in Kearney to John Sr. and Marjorie (Erpelding) Detter.
In 1982, he married Jody Journey in Kearney. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include his brothers, John Detter of Kearney, Terry Detter of Aurora and Ron Detter and his wife, DeeAnn, of Sumner; sister, Loretta Whiteface of Kearney; daughter, Michelle Whiteface of Kearney; granddaughter, Krystina of Sioux Falls, S.D.; 24 nieces and nephews; 41 grandnieces and grandnephews; and seven great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
David lived in Pennsylvania until he was 9 years old, when the family moved back to Kearney. He attended Kearney High School. He worked as a brick tender for Great Plains Masonry in Kearney.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, a sister and a niece.
Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
