OMAHA — Trudy B. McKee, 43, of Omaha, formerly of Elm Creek, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, at her home.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney with the Rev. Jose Chavez officiating. Burial will be later.
Visitation with family and friends will be from 5-7 p.m. today at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Chapel in Elm Creek.
She was born Feb. 27, 1970, in Kearney to Don and Sharon (Bowie) McKee. On Feb. 22, 1997, she married Craig Carter in Moore Haven, Fla.
Survivors include her daughter, Alexis Carter of Wichita, Kan.; her mother of Elm Creek; brother, Mack McKee of Sturgis, S.D.; sisters, Debbie Penny and her husband, Dale, of Elm Creek, Cindi Brestel and her husband, Tom, of Holdrege and Shelly McKee of Avon, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
She grew up in Elm Creek and graduated from Elm Creek High School in 1988. She received her nursing degree from Kearney State College. She and Craig made their home in Wichita, Kan., where she was employed as a registered nurse.
She moved to Omaha where she worked for Select Specialty Hospital at the time of her death.
She was preceded in death by her father; grandparents, Elmer and Anna Mae McKee and Lynn and Ellen Bowie; and niece, Carrie Penny.
Memorials are suggested to family for future designation.
