KEARNEY — The Sioux City Musketeers erased a two-goal deficit in the final nine minutes of regulation, and completed the comeback with a 5-4 shootout win over the Tri-City Storm Wednesday night at the Viaero Event Center.

Stephan Vigier scored twice — his fifth and sixth goals in his last four games — for Sioux City, which trailed 2-1 going into the third period. Vigier scored his second goal of the game on a Musketeer power play 1 minute, 58 seconds into the third to tie it, before T.J. Schlueter and Jaden Schwartz each scored at the 4:31 and 5:19 marks to give the Storm a 4-2 advantage.

However, the Musketeers’ Dan Ford answered with a goal at the 11:34 mark, and Ryan Rashid netted the tying goal with 26 seconds left after Sioux City pulled its goalie for an extra attacker.

After making 25 saves through regulation and overtime, Sioux City goalie Matt Skoff stopped all four Tri-City attempts in the shootout as the Musketeers won 2-0 on penalty shots.

Josh Berge and Radoslav Illo netted second-period goals for Tri-City, which lost for the eighth straight time —- the last two coming in overtime and a shootout.

Storm goalie Carsen Chubak made 30 saves in the losing effort. Chubak was the last Tri-City goalie to record a win, which came Nov. 3 against Lincoln.

The Storm have a 1-6-2 record in November, and finish out the month with games at Fargo tonight and Saturday.
