Spring is prime viewing time to see the many sandhill cranes that travel through Nebraska. This season has also brought a variety of other birds, such as geese and pelicans.

Just like the cranes, dozens of volunteers arrive at Rowe this time of year to greet visitors, scrub toilets, mop floors, manage the gift shop and lead groups out to the blinds at sunrise and sunset. Volunteers are the lifeblood of Rowe’s crane season.
