KEARNEY — The Fairfield Inn & Suites-Kearney has been named Hotel of the Year among Fairfield Inn and Suites’ nearly 900 hotels in North and South America.
Manager Roger Younes accepted the award at the 2019 general managers conference in Chicago.
Hotel owner Paul Younes, who is Roger Younes’ uncle, and Lori Roach, vice president of operations for Younes Hospitality, surprised Roger Younes at the awards presentation.
“The manager and staff at our Fairfield Inn & Suites-Kearney are very deserving of this award and the recognition it brings. From the housekeeper who cleans the guest rooms to the front desk and maintenance staff, everyone works together to take care of our guests in their own distinct way,” Paul Younes said. “It is their hard work and dedication to serving our customers that makes this award possible, and I congratulate each and every one of them.”
In order to qualify for Hotel of the Year, Fairfield Inn-Kearney earned a Diamond Award as one of Fairfield’s top six hotels.
Fairfield Inn & Suites-Grand Island recently won the silver award as one of Fairfield’s top 20 percent of hotels.
Younes Hospitality owns and operates the Fairfield Inn-Kearney under license from Marriott International Inc.
The Holiday Inn Express & Suites-Norfolk and Holiday Inn Express-Fremont recently won prestigious Quality Excellence Awards from Intercontinental Hotel Group, the parent company of Holiday Inn Express & Suites. The Quality Excellence Award is an annual award given only to the top hotels in the brand and recognizes outstanding customer service and quality of product.
The Norfolk and Fremont hotels are two of only 293 properties in IHG’s 5,600 North and South American hotels to earn the Quality Excellence Awards.
Younes Hospitality also was given special recognition for being an outstanding franchisee, with seven of their eight IHG branded hotels winning the Torchbearer or Quality Excellence awards. Few other franchisees within IHG had this many award-winning properties.
Younes Hospitality, with corporate offices in Kearney, operates 14 hotel properties in six Nebraska cities, including Kearney, Hastings, Grand Island, Norfolk, Columbus and Fremont.
