KEARNEY — Laura Christine Pierce, 41, of Kearney died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2019, at Kearney Regional Medical Center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kearney with the Rev. Duane Duley officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney.
Additional visitation will be at 10 a.m. MDT Friday at St. John’s Lutheran Church southwest of Roscoe, followed by a brief service and burial at 11 a.m. MDT at the church cemetery.
She entered her eternal home in heaven after a courageous fight with cancer.
Laura was born on June 16, 1978, in Schuyler to Robert and Bonita (Beck) Pierce. She attended Centennial High School in Utica, Hastings College and Central Community College-Hastings.
Laura enjoyed using her musical talents as accompanist of Kearney High School choirs. She also played the organ, piano, flute and handbells at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kearney. She was an active member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.
Survivors include her parents, the Rev. Robert and Bonita Pierce of Ogallala; two sisters, Michelle Degenhardt of Tomball, Texas, and Kristina Pierce of Missouri City, Texas; and a niece and nephew, Ashlyn and Caleb Degenhardt, both of Tomball.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her brother-in-law, Ryon Degenhardt.
Memorials are suggested to Mission Central in Mapleton, Iowa.
