GRAND ISLAND — Broken Bow City Administrator Brent Clark was approved Tuesday as Grand Island’s new assistant city administrator.
The Grand Island City Council voted 9-0 to hire Clark and pay him $132,246 annually. Clark, 32, will be in line to assume the top administration job on March 1 when current City Administrator Marlan Ferguson retires, according to the transition plan outlined by Grand Island’s new Mayor Roger Steele.
Clark, 32, has served as Broken Bow’s city administrator since February 2015. The Grand Island City Council recently voted to reinstate the assistant position to achieve a smooth transition from the administration of outgoing Mayor Jeremy Jensen to new Mayor Roger Steele, who was sworn in Tuesday.
Clark said Broken Bow is a great community, but Grand Island is much larger. In Broken Bow, Clark prepared a $26 million budget, which compares to the $213 million budget in Grand Island.
