GRAND ISLAND — Five businesses in Buffalo and Sherman counties have failed liquor compliance checks.
Coppermill Steakhouse, Whiskey Creek Steakhouse and El Potrero Mexican Restaurant, all in Kearney; Colony Inn at Loup City; and Pilot Travel Center at Elm Creek are accused of having employees who allegedly sold alcohol to a minor last Friday.
The clerks were cited for procuring alcohol to a minor, and the businesses were referred to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission where business liquor licenses could receive sanctions or be suspended.
Alcohol inspections were conducted at 51 businesses in Buffalo and Sherman counties, including restaurants, bars, hotels, and convenience stores. Five businesses sold alcohol to a minor and three of the businesses failed to check the minor’s identification.
The compliance checks were conducted in part with a grant from the Nebraska Department of Highway Safety.
A list of the businesses that passed the inspections was unavailable.
