KEARNEY— Kearney Area Habitat for Humanity will dedicate its 81st house on Thursday.
The residence at 1304 E. 17th St. will belong to Jackie Vasquez Morena and her daughter, Ellie, and will be the second of three house constructed in 2018 to be dedicated.
The dedication is free and open to the public and will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a welcome by Marshall Everitt, president of Kearney Habitat. The Rev. Mitch Ivey of Grace Fellowship Church will give the invocation, which will be followed by special music performed by Matt Sell.
Organizations presenting gifts to the Moreno family, and the presenters, include: Bruce Furniture, Marshall Everitt; Kearney Women of Today, Kathy Morrow; Daughters of the American Revolution, Pat Skiles; Kearney Literacy Council, Elaine Batenhorst; Family of Christ Lutheran Church and Mead Lumber Company, the Rev. John Gosswein; photo album of the build, Bonnie Mumm; Bible and cross, Ivey; Kearney Habitat Building Committee members Gary Arentsen and Jerry Marlatt will present the Fudge Box and the keys to the new home, respectively.
Ivey will give the benediction and house blessing. Everitt will have closing remarks.
Additional donations will include a Bible from The Solid Rock; booties, Yellow Van; programs, Barbara Clark; dedication photographer, Cindy Walker; and DJ service, Complete Music. Tom and Deb Edwards have been family support partners for Moreno.
