Road work teaser

NORTH PLATTE — Weather permitting, work will begin Monday on Nebraska Highway 2 in the Mason City area, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

Paulsen’s Inc., of Cozad has the $2,422,391 contract. Work will include bridge repair, asphalt milling and overlay, guardrail, grading, seeding, pavement patching and shouldering. One lane of traffic will be maintained at the bridge repair locations with temporary traffic signals.

The remainder of the project will be maintained with flaggers and a pilot car. A 12-foot width restriction will be in effect for the duration of the project. It’s anticipated the work will be complete in October.

Motorists are asked to use caution when driving near construction zones and to expect delays.
