KEARNEY — U-Save Pharmacy has cared for its patients in Kearney since 1970 when Jim Hamik opened the original Unimart Pharmacy in what is currently Family Fresh. Kim and Eric Hamik joined him in the 1990s, eventually opening at the current location on Second Avenue in 2003.

After being sold to a national chain grocery store in 2014, Kim and Eric, along with some of their original staff, have reopened U-Save in their old location just south of Dairy Queen on Second Avenue in North Kearney.

“Reopening U-Save has felt like coming home. As a small, locally owned business, we are able to provide high-quality care and attention to our patients,” said Kim Hamik, pharmacist and owner

U-Save Pharmacy will be kicking off its reopening with an open house 8:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

The public is invited for refreshments and a tour of the renovated store and a chance to win one of three $100 cash prizes.

U-Save Pharmacy can be contacted at 308-455-1555 and also can be reached by email at info@usavepharmacy.com.

Store hours are 8:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday; 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturdays and noon-4 p.m. Sundays.
