SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — James T. “Jim” Muchmore, 91, of Springfield, formerly of Kearney, Neb., died Sunday, July 7, 2019, in Springfield.

Services took place in Springfield. Additional memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney with the Rev. Dean Pofahl officiating. Entombment of ashes will be at Kearney Cemetery with military honors by Kearney American Legion Post 52, Kearney Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 759 and the U.S. Marines Military Honors Team.

There will be no visitation.

James T. “Jim” Muchmore was born April 20, 1928, in Axtell, Neb., to James T. and Katie (Batteral) Muchmore.

Following high school in Axtell, Jim served during World War II in the U.S. Marine Corps.

On Dec. 17, 1947, Jim and Evelyn (Yendra) were married and lived in rural Buffalo County, Neb., where he farmed until moving to Springfield in 1979.

Jim is survived by his sister, Mary Yendra of Kearney; son, Ken Muchmore and wife Alana of Kearney; his daughter, Linda Stubblefield of Madison, Ala.; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and his son, Steven.
