HOLDREGE — Leon Edward Fox, 93, of Holdrege died of cancer Sunday, Sept. 29, 2019, at Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at All Saints Catholic Church in Holdrege with the Rev. Thomas Lux officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Home Cemetery near Holdrege with military honors by Martin-Horn American Legion Post 66 in conjunction with the U.S. Army Funeral Honors Team.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege with the family present 5:30-7 p.m. followed by rosary at 7 p.m.
He was born Sept. 2, 1926, on the family farm northwest of Smithfield in Gosper County to Edward P. and Antonia E. (Seifert) Fox.
On Oct. 20, 1973, he married Lorraine F. “Lovie” Young. She died March 1, 1999.
On May 28, 2005, he married Hazel C. Linner.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Diane Martin of Holdrege, Sherry Gray of Norfolk, Charlotte Hester of Fairmont, Barb Straatmann of Holdrege, Carol Dohmen of Platte Center, Donise George of Hutto, Texas, and Ronda Booth of Holdrege; sons, Brian Ridgley of Terre Haute, Ind., Charles Cuypers of Fort Collins, Colo., Tom Cuypers of Torrington, Wyo., Michael Cuypers of Edgeley, N.D., and Dwayne Cuypers and Bryon Cuypers, both of Holdrege; sister, Phyllis Maaske of Bertrand; 29 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.
