KEARNEY — Linda Kay Jelken, 73, of Kearney died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019, at her home.
A gathering of family and friends will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services Chapel.
Linda was born Oct. 20, 1945, in Franklin to John and Rachel (Lax) Hendricks. She grew up in Franklin and graduated from Franklin High School in 1963. She then attended Central Community College-Grand Island.
Linda married Arlen Jelken, and they had three children. They later divorced.
After moving to Kearney, Linda worked as a waitress at Kings Restaurant, the Diet Center and Bob’s Super Store in the Fabric Department.
She enjoyed watching TV, going dancing, collecting wolf memorabilia and Elvis Presley.
Linda is survived by her mother, Rachel Hendricks of Kearney; daughters, Julie Pedersen and husband Tim, and Jodi Weeder, all of Kearney; sisters, Joyce White and Pat Lux of Kearney; grandchildren, Brandon Jelken, Samantha Jelken, Tory Weeder and Zackary Weeder; and great-granddaughter, Kyra Robins.
Linda was preceded in death by her father and a son, Jeff Jelken.
