COZAD — Ronald D. Plambeck, 86, of Kearney died Monday, June 15, 2020, at Emerald Nursing and Rehab in Cozad.
Graveside services are 2 p.m. Friday at Kearney Cemetery with the Rev. John Gosswein officiating. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy Honors Team.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Thursday at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney.
Ronald Dwayne Plambeck was born Feb. 13, 1934, in Persia, Iowa, to Robert and Opal (Williams) Plambeck. He was raised in Omaha and received his education from Omaha South High School, graduating with the class of 1952.
On July 17, 1954, he married Pat Jensen in Omaha. Ron served in the U.S. Navy from November 1955 until his honorable discharge in September 1957. After returning from the service, Ron bought cattle at feedlots and from farmers for 30 years. He later retired from Cargill/Excel.
Survivors include his sons, Dwayne Plambeck and wife Diane, Craig Plambeck and wife Steph, and Ronald Plambeck Jr. and wife Angie, all of Kearney; daughter, Laurie Brisbin and husband Greg of Kearney; sister, Donna White and husband Joel of Blair; sisters-in-law, Gladys Plambeck and Linda Plambeck, both of Bellevue; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patsy Plambeck; granddaughter, Sara Plambeck; and brothers, Vernon, Gary and Buddy Plambeck.
Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
