KEARNEY — Scott R. Miner, 59, of Kearney died Friday, March 27, 2020, at his home.
Private family services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral Chapel. A recording of the service will be posted on the funeral home’s website. Burial will follow the service at Kearney Cemetery.

Scott was born Feb. 24, 1961, in Castro Valley, Calif. When he was 12, his family moved to Red Cloud. He graduated from Red Cloud High School in 1979.
Scott married Linda Jackson in Franklin in 1980. They lived in Kearney and had one daughter, Caprice. They were later divorced. Scott worked at Good Samaritan Hospital in the maintenance department until 1990, and then worked at Affiliated Brokers as a real estate agent and property manager before starting, owning and brokering MileStone Realty in Kearney.
Scott married Sharri Sliva on July 17, 1993. They had two children, Morgan and Logan.
Scott was a member of the Greater Nebraska Board of Realtors, Kearney Elks Club 984, Prince of Peace Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. Scott loved spending time with his family and attending all the kids’ activities. He enjoyed golfing, boating, fishing, camping and was an avid Raider football fan.
Survivors include his wife, Sharri Miner; daughters, Caprice Meis and husband James, and Morgan Miner; son, Logan Miner; grandchildren, Ryder and Lennox Meis and Aspen Miner, all of Kearney; uncle, Robert Miner and wife Judy; cousins, Robert Dean Miner and wife Sheri, and Laura Edney and husband Jack, all of Pleasanton, Calif.
Scott was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Ann Funaro; and father, Richard Miner.
Memorials are suggested to the family to start a scholarship in Scott’s name.
