Pain and deformities can greatly hinder your life, but Kearney Orthopedic & Sports Medicine is here to help. Our mission is to participate in the healing art of medicine in humility, through leadership, innovation and wise stewardship of resources, acknowledging that the pursuit of our mission is a sacred trust. We will treat our fellow human beings with respect and mercy in acknowledgment of their value to God.
A core member of Kearney Ortho, Dr. Scot Bandel, is a purpose-driven physician who puts his patients first in all that he does. As the practice’s podiatric surgeon, he provides an array of care related to the foot and ankle. Dr. Bandel treats numerous ailments, from simple palliative concerns to complex surgical issues, including, but not limited to: plantar fasciitis, hammertoes, bunions, sprains, fractures and diabetic foot care needs.
He joins Kearney Ortho’s entire surgical team in approaching patient care with a deep concern for each patient’s overall well-being. “We care about the patient both physically and spiritually. The art of medicine is getting to know you personally, then applying the science to your life,” says Dr. Bandel.
With more than 90 years of combined experience and dedicated expertise in sports medicine and general orthopedics; comprehensive foot, ankle and joint replacement surgery; and minimally invasive techniques, Kearney Ortho’s physicians are among the most experienced and trusted in town.
The entire team — Dr. Bandel, Dr. Brent Adamson, Dr. Chris Wilkinson and certified Physician Assistant Kim Hilliard — apply their scientific and surgical skill to correct deformities, ease pain and see patients achieve a better quality of life. The team takes a conservative care route and forms deep connections to patients through the practice.
“Our deepest satisfaction is seeing patients return to a more normal life — and seeing them smile on their last visit after surgery,” says Dr. Bandel.
The Kearney Ortho team also values sharing their medical skills to develop future generations of physicians. In 2017, Drs. Adamson and Wilkinson received Volunteer Clinical Instructors of the Year Awards, voted on by University of Nebraska Medical Center’s family practice residents.
