KEARNEY — University of Nebraska at Kearney wrestling coach Dalton Jensen announced Friday the additions of two high school seniors and two transfers to the program in preparation for next season.

The newcomers are Austin Eldredge of McPherson, Kan., Wyatt Hayes of Scott City, Kan., Anthony Mancini of Middletown, Del., and Alec Segarra of Hill City, Kan. In November, UNK signed five Nebraska high school seniors, each who won a state title in March, for next season.

Eldrege spent two years at Cloud County, redshirting as a freshman and earning All-American honors last season with a fourth-place finish at 149 pounds at the NJCAA National Championships.

Hayes amassed a 147-18 prep record for Scott City High School. He was a four-time state qualifier, a three-time placer and a two-time state champion at 170 pounds. Off the mat, Hayes was a three-time all-state running back in football, rushing for more than 4,000 yards in his career, and then was a state track champion at 800 meters and on two different relay teams.

Mancini, a 184-pound wrestler, is believed to be UNK’s first-ever Delaware-born student-athlete. He spent the past four years wrestling for the Franklin and Marshall Diplomats, a Division I program located in Lancaster, Pa. The graduate transfer won 40 matches during the 2016 and 2017 seasons and will have one year of eligibility remaining at UNK.

Segarra, a 125-pound wrestler, posted a 106-45 mark for Hill High School. A three-time state qualifier ad a two-time state placer, he is the Kansas Junior freestyle and Greco-Roman state champion.

UNK has won the MIAA title the past six years and has 18 straight top-eight finishes at the NCAA Championships.
